GOCO Hospitality and its network of properties around the world have celebrated this year\u2019s Global Wellness Day with varied collection of wellness activities \u2013 including yoga sessions, educational workshops, healthy snacks, reflexology for children and park workouts \u2013 that aimed to inspire guests to think about how they can live healthier lives all year round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 2012 in Turkey, Global Wellness Day is a non-profit campaign raising awareness of the need to live well, both in terms of physical and mental wellness. The annual campaign has now spread around the world, and was celebrated this year on 9th June at around 5,000 locations in 100 countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GOCO Hospitality corporate headquarters in Bangkok challenged staff members to achieve each part of the official GWD 7 Step Manifest, which includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7       walk for an hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7       drink more water<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7       don\u2019t use plastic bottles<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7       eat healthy food<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7       do a good deed<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7       have a family dinner with your loved ones<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7       sleep at 10 pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GOCO Hospitality\u2019s Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona, California organised a packed schedule of classes for guests, such as Aqua Fit, Aqua Yoga and dance classes. Pink Global Wellness Day tokens were hidden around the Glen Ivy spa. Guests finding these tokens redeemed them for fresh and healthy juice drinks. The Glen Ivy social media channels busily shared educational posts focused on the GWD 7 Step Manifest, with numerous giveaways such as re-usable water bottles, free admission and complimentary treatments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GOCO Hospitality\u2019s newest spa, GOCO Spa Daios Cove, which opened in April this year at the Daios Cove Luxury Resort & Villas in Crete, Greece, enthusiastically joined Global Wellness Day by organising an early morning walking tour, providing fresh juice shots, afternoon yoga, a family and kids stretching activity and numerous spa promotions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Global Wellness Day at GOCO Spa Venice at the JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa began early with a morning \u2018Percorso Vitae\u2019 run and exercise at the wellness stations in the Isola delle Rose Park. The spa served energy juice shots and healthy plant-based biscuits to guests. Guests were given the opportunity to join a breathing and mindfulness session, and there was a child-friendly reflexology activity run in conjunction with the resort\u2019s kids club. To educate guests, the spa ran an informative workshop on the topic of how the hormonal circadian rhythm affects health. The day closed with sunset hatha yoga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGlobal wellness day is a fantastic initiative,\u201d said Ingo Schweder, Founder and CEO of GOCO Hospitality. \u201cIt\u2019s important that spas and wellness centres take a much more proactive approach to educating guests and the general public in how to live more healthy lives if we are to be able to collectively tackle the preventable problems of stress, cardio vascular diseases, type-two diabetes and obesity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Global Wellness Day has a fantastic objective of raising awareness of how we can live our lives in a better way.
