WeQ: The Intelligence of Living Well

By Vicki Nguyen

This month, we had the pleasure of speaking with Vicki Nguyen, a health crusader on a mission to prove that the right diet and lifestyle can help individuals live longer, stronger, happier and healthier. Passionate about breaking barriers and living until she is 120 years old, Vicki founded Jomeis Fine Foods in 2002. It has since become a platform where people can access products that change their health for the better.

Through her brand and her One Body One Life Podcast, she shares powerful insights on using food as medicine to heal, prevent disease, and support the body’s natural vitality.

In this month’s Wellness Expert Series, we spoke with Vicki about Wellbeing Intelligence or WeQ, The Intelligence of Living Well.

“For years, I have been inspired by my great aunt who lived well, until 108. She was surrounded by a loving family, had an active mind, read hundreds of books and even wrote a few of her own. I have always felt deeply that it was absolutely possible for me (and all) to live well until 120, and so for as long as I can remember, this it has been my personal mission!

When I lost two of my best friends to cancer at the age of 36 and 37, my desire to live until 120 was anchored in even deeper. It was on.

I dove headfirst into supplements, detoxing, biohacking, red light therapy, breathwork, hyperbaric oxygen, contrast showers, peptides, you name it. I tried until I became fluent in the language of optimisation, and to this day, still have my daily non negotiables that keep me on track as well as following my “longevity plan”.

I realised I was living as if there was an insidious disease within me, whereby everything I was doing was to assist my body to be well, to thrive, to optimise, to live longer, stronger, and ultimately healthier and happier for as long as possible.

It is all about; How can I live to 120? How can my healthspan match my lifespan ? and How can I experience life fully for all the years I’m here?

This is where WeQ was born. I realised humans make thousands of decisions daily which either fight disease or fuel it.

What is WeQ?

WeQ is about asking yourself with each and every decision , “Is this the best possible option for me right now?“

Whether it’s deciding  what to eat, what to drink, where to go, who to go with, what to wear, how to sit, what to consume in the form of media, or conversation, and the list goes on.

WeQ stands for Wellbeing Intelligence. It is your inner compass for living with awareness and intention, reflecting how deeply you understand, respect, and respond to the needs of your body, mind, and spirit. It is the part of you that knows when you need stillness instead of stimulation. When you need space instead of another yes. When your soul is asking for sunlight, movement, or simply a moment of silence.

Where IQ is about logic and EQ is about emotions, WeQ is about integration, bringing all parts of you into alignment. WeQ isn’t about getting it perfect, it’s about tuning in. To your body. Your intuition. Your truth.

Why WeQ Matters Now

We live in a culture that praises productivity and rewards busyness. But WeQ reminds us that we are not machines to optimise, we are living, breathing beings meant to feel our way through life.

WeQ requires you to have more conscious connection. To yourself. To what truly nourishes you. To the wisdom your body is whispering all the time. Living with high WeQ might look like waking up with intention instead of urgency. Choosing food that loves you back. Saying no to things that drain you, even if they may look good on paper. Some days, that might mean a sunrise walk. Other days, it means staying in bed and being kind to yourself for it.

WeQ brings you back to center and reminds us that:

  • Sleep is not laziness, it is strategy.
  • Movement is not punishment, it is celebration.
  • Food is not just fuel, it is medicine
  • And your life is not a productivity race, it is a sacred experience.

The vision for us all should be to live to 120, with vibrancy, purpose, and joy. To still be dancing, learning, loving, and living deeply at that age. It is not necessarily about the number, rather the feeling. The aliveness. The possibility to live on your own terms, with your own rhythm, guided by something deeper than metrics. So I invite you to begin asking yourself, each day, gently:

“Is this choice aligned with my wellbeing?”

“Am I living today in a way my future self will thank me for?”

“What does thriving actually feel like – for me?”

You do not need to change everything overnight. Just start listening a little more closely. We are not here just to survive the years, we are here to inhabit them; fully, bravely, consciously and with full intention.”
