Position Title: Director of Sales
Location: GOCO Hospitality, Koh Samui, Thailand
Job Type: Full-time

The Director of Sales will be responsible for overseeing the sales activities for GOCO Hospitality’s Samui property. The successful candidate will manage the property’s reactive and proactive sales efforts, develop, and implement a strategic sales strategy to increase brand awareness, drive revenue, and build strong relationships with guests and partners.

The Director of Sales leads all GOCO’s Samui property’s segmented sales effort (e.g. group, transient, corporate, MICE/event businesses, agencies, governmental, etc.) and is responsible for implementing the segment sales strategy and achieving segment revenue goals, property revenue goals and guest and employee satisfaction. The position leads and manages all day-to-day activities related to the sales function with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable the achievement of the properties’ sales objectives. 

The Director of Sales is a passionate individual, who has extensive working experience in various international hotel brands and is a strong team player and keen to develop their knowledge of wellness hospitality and skills within the company.

Job Overview:

  • Primarily responsible for leading & driving top-line revenue strategy for traditional sales-related segments including group, volume transient & catering. 
  • Responsible for staying ahead of market trends, market share movement and ongoing competitive hotel analysis, while directing the properties’ sales teams (rooms & catering) to ensure budgeted revenues are met or exceeded. 
  • Work together with the Director of Marketing, responsible for developing and implementing a marketing communications plan designed to achieve the desired positioning for the The Resort, as well as managing the sales and marketing budget that supports revenue attainment. 
  • Develop and maintain existing and new external relationships. This may include attending events, trade shows, and external marketing media events as required to fulfill the duties of the role.
  • Identify and implement the most appropriate Sales tool/platform and develop the property’s customer database via the platform/tool.
  • Needs a hands-on approach and the ability to work well within teams.

Position Specifications:

  • Minimum 10 years sales experience within the hospitality industry required.
  • Hotel industry work experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance,
  • Prior working experience in wellness hospitality projects is a plus,
  • Market knowledge is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Hotel Sales Pro/Salesforce /other sales platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented and ability to work independently,
  • Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and excellent customer service skills
  • Creative, hard-working, proactive, and positive thinking
  • Demonstrated skills in effectively supervising a team and ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, and Thai is essential, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal).
