GOCO Hospitality forms an independent consulting arm focusing on the development of wellness-based resorts, bathhouses, and spas as an extension of the global consulting consortium – Horwath HTL

Ingo Schweder, Founder of GOCO Hospitality, recognises that, while companies in the past have focused on the development of various types of resorts and hotels, none are specializing in the development of facilities rooted in health and wellness.

An apparent gap in the market where no leading hospitality consulting network is offering dedicated independent business consulting services targeted at the development of health and wellness-based projects led Ingo and Chairman of Horwath HTL, Robert Hecker, to launch this groundbreaking venture that would seek to accommodate the growing and highly-specialized health and wellness development segment.

Services with Horwath HTL Health and Wellness include master planning, market research and feasibility, and operational concept development for the development of wellness master communities, health and wellness-based hotels and resorts, bathhouses, spa facilities, and wellness centers.

Horwath HTL Health and Wellness is positioned to work with institutional investors, property developers, international hospitality management companies, interior designers, and operational properties towards the realization of their health and wellness projects.

“We’re very excited about the growth prospects of Horwath HTL Health and Wellness. Horwath HTL Health and Wellness’ team will utilize their professional expertise and leverage the knowledge of 250 different Horwath HTL hotel tourism and leisure consultants to deliver value to our global client base. Including our office in Bangkok, Horwath HTL has over 50 offices in 39 different countries, which offers a support network that is difficult to replicate,” said Ingo Schweder, Managing Director of Horwath HTL Health and Wellness and CEO of GOCO Hospitality.

With this new development, GOCO Hospitality will focus on the design, technical planning, pre-opening, and management of health and wellness-based projects. GOCO Hospitality currently manages The Spa at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof and has been awarded projects ranging from urban spas and resort spas to bathhouses and wellness-based resorts across Europe, the Middle East, and China over the next two years.  GOCO Hospitality will open its first branded GOCO Spa in December 2013 at Ajman Saray, a Starwood Luxury Collection property in the UAE, which will be followed by another branded GOCO Spa at the JW Marriott Resort and Spa in Venice, Italy in 2014.

Although new to the network, Horwath HTL Health and Wellness is already collaborating with Horwath HTL Beijing on a hot spring wellness retreat 60 km outside the capital city, Horwath HTL Frankfurt on multiple projects in Tanzania, and Horwath HTL Serbia on developing a focused strategy for the growth of the country’s wellness tourism sector. Horwath HTL Health and Wellness and GOCO Hospitality will continue to collaborate with Horwath HTL offices strategically located across the globe so that clients can receive a one-stop solution within a centralized network of professionals.

The team of Horwath HTL Health and Wellness has been recognized globally with awards including ‘Best Spa Consultant’ by SpaChina in 2011 and 2012 and ‘Best Spa Consulting Company’ by The Crystal Awards in 2011.

“GOCO Hospitality is a very well respected team with a great reputation for delivering exceptional results, and we know they will be a tremendous asset to the Horwath HTL network. Their work will allow us to develop and offer new and quality health and wellness planning and development services that will be of interest and value to clients,” said Robert Hecker, Chairman of Horwath HTL.

Horwath HTL Health and Wellness is based in Bangkok, Thailand, with regional offices opening in Berlin, Germany, in November 2013 and Shanghai, China, in March 2014.
